Story And Details
This delicious lot consists of Caturra and, Bourbon varieties grown Puno in the southern region of Peru, near the Bolivian border.
In Peru’s Puno region, specialty coffee production is becoming increasingly rare due to the dual pressures of climate change and a growing shift toward coca cultivation. Amid these challenges, Delia Capquique Quispe stands out as a vital force in preserving the region’s coffee heritage. Based in San Pedro de Putinapunco, Delia runs an organic farm named after her daughter, where she primarily cultivates bourbon along with some caturra.
Known for her meticulous approach to selective picking and processing, she produces coffee of exceptional quality—earning her national acclaim when she won the 2018 Perú Cup of Excellence with her washed Bourbón. Her dedication exemplifies the resilience and skill required to maintain high-quality coffee in a changing landscape.
This coffee has roasted nutty tones, toffee-like sweetness and a balanced citric acidity. All is complemented by rich malted milk-like chocolatey undertones and a viscous body.
