The magical #coffeesourcerers at Catalyst Trade shared with us the most AMAZING, fruity and CLEAN dry processed ethiopian coffee we’ve ever had...and we were lucky to be able to secure a small quantity (woop!). For this we are immensely grateful!

This organic certified coffee comes from the region surrounding the Bombe mountain valley.  It is grown by members of an organization consisting of 667 producers in various parts of the mountain range, which includes producers from Bombe and Shantawene. Catalyst has worked with this group since before it was officially founded.

Bombe coffees are complete stand outs on the cupping table. It is dense coffee, with heavy concentrations of the smaller screen sizes (the majority of the coffee screen sizes at 14 and 15), which reflects a larger concentration of the Mikicho variety. Mikicho is identified by its larger cherries with wavy leaves, the seeds appearing elongated and canoe-shaped. No doubt, this is a distant relative to the Gesha variety, and the prominent cup characteristics that stand out in all Bombe lots are lush, tropical fruit tones and delicate florals.

For the past couple seasons, producers have delivered cherries to the Abore Washing Station.

We taste amazing, juicy, lush fruit flavors such as strawberry, cherry liquor, hibiscus and forest berries, sparkling acidity and tons of sweetness. Y-U-M.
