Story And Details
High in the mountains of Inzá, Cauca, Alejandro Ariza is building a focused coffee project rooted in precision farming, regional identity, and long-term collaboration with producers in the area. His work at La Argelia Farm reflects a commitment to elevating the quality potential of Cauca through structured processing and a consistent focus on washed coffee clarity.
At La Argelia, Alejandro works with Castillo and Caturra, grown at high altitude where cooler temperatures slow cherry maturation and enhance sweetness and structure. Through a carefully controlled washed process, including extended fermentation and meticulous drying, he develops coffees defined by clean acidity, floral aromatics, and a balanced, transparent cup profile that reflects the character of the region.
His approach is centered on building a more stable and quality-driven coffee system in Inzá—working closely with producers to improve processing consistency, strengthen traceability, and create access to differentiated specialty markets. Each lot is treated as part of a broader effort to refine regional expression while improving long-term opportunities for producers.
This coffee is also part of Unblended’s Young Producer Program, which supports emerging producers in building their own coffee projects and brands. The program is designed to help producers position their coffees internationally while improving long-term profitability through product differentiation and direct collaboration. Our goal is to contribute to this program and continue expanding our relationship with producers like Alejandro—supporting both quality development and sustainable growth at origin.
